Timo Krings MD, PhD FRCP(C)
Dr. Krings grew up near Aachen, Germany, studied Medicine in Aachen and at Harvard Medical School in Boston and returned to Aachen to pursue residency training in Radiology and Neurosurgery.
Following a pediatric neurointerventional fellowship with the late Prof. Lasjaunias in Paris, France he became Staff in Paris and subsequently Director of Adult and Pediatric Interventional Neuroradiology at Aachen University Medical School.
He obtained his Phd in Biomedical Engineering (Technical University Aachen), a MSc Degree in Neurovascular Diseases (Universite Paris Sud) and a Master in Health Economics and Hospital Management of the Bayuvarian Ministry of Finance.
Before coming to Toronto in July 2008 he was the Vice President of the European Board of Neuroradiology, Head of the Scientific Committee of the European Society of Neuroradiology, and was invited Professor in Cambridge University (UK), Vienna, Chile, Mexico City and Tokio.
He was invited lecturer at the European Society of Pediatric Neurosurgery, the ASNR, the European Society of Radiology and Neuroradiology and organizer of different European courses of Neuroradiology. Dr. Krings has published more than 170 peer reviewed articles, approximately 30 book chapters and edited two books on spinal and pediatric Neuroradiology.
His major research interests dynamic CTA, new modalities of aneurysm treatment, and vessel wall imaging. He is cross appointed at the Hospital for Sick Children where he performs neurovascular pediatric interventional procedures.
